Position Summary
VALiNTRY is seeking a remote Paralegal Contractor will support the a house hold name Nonprofit by reviewing, updating, and drafting compliance and contracting policies and developing new procedures that strengthen organizational controls and operational effectiveness. This role will play a key part in advancing ACS's compliance maturity by ensuring policies align with regulatory expectations, industry best practices, and internal operational needs.
Pay Range $50.00 to $65.00 w2 per hour , This position can compensate more depending on additional skills set that can be more valuable to the enterprise, don't hesitate to apply if you're a strong technical fit for this position.
Working closely with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Risk Management, and business stakeholders, the contractor will modernize existing policy documentation, improve clarity and consistency across governance materials, and support the implementation of enhanced contract governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Review and Modernization
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing compliance, contracting, and governance policies.
- Revise and modernize policies to reflect current regulatory requirements, internal control standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure policy language is clear, concise, and accessible to both legal and non-legal audiences.
- Align policies with organizational risk tolerance and operational requirements.
- Harmonize policy frameworks across departments to eliminate redundancies and improve consistency. Procedure Development
- Develop detailed procedures to support revised policies, including step-by-step workflows, defined roles and responsibilities, escalation protocols, and approval matrices.
- Translate complex legal and compliance concepts into practical operational guidance for business teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate procedures, ensure usability, and support implementation and change management efforts. Contracting Policy Support
- Assist in developing updated contracting standards, approval thresholds, and guidelines for legal review.
- Support the creation of standardized contract templates, self-service request forms, and contracting playbooks.
- Contribute to documentation supporting the implementation of the organization's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system. Research and Benchmarking
- Benchmark Noprofit policies against peer organizations and industry standards (e.g., Red Cross, American Heart Association, healthcare and nonprofit sectors).
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve governance, and standardize compliance and contracting practices. Documentation and Collaboration
- Produce clear, well-structured policy and procedure documentation ready for executive and leadership approval.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, IT, and business units to ensure policy accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
- Support change management activities, including communications, training materials, and rollout planning.
