Job Title: Part-Time Payroll & Benefits Coordinator (Remote)

As we continue to grow, weโre looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to support our HR and Finance teams on a part-time basis.
Position Overview:
Weโre seeking a highly organized, reliable, and knowledgeable Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing and benefits administration. This individual will also serve as a key point of contact for employment verifications, leave management, unemployment claims, and other payroll-related matters. This is a remote position requiring a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and autonomy.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration:
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time for multiple locations
- Ensure all wage, hour, and tax regulations are followed
- Maintain payroll records and reports
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports
- Benefits Administration:
- Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans
- Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit plans
- Leave Management:
- Administer FMLA, PFML, and other leave types in accordance with federal, state, and company policy
- Track leave balances and coordinate with managers and employees on return-to-work procedures
- Employment Verifications & Claims:
- Respond to employment and wage verification requests
- Manage and respond to unemployment claims
- Complete and submit workerโs compensation claim forms and questionnaires
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
- Assist with audits and reporting as required
- Maintain employee confidentiality and data security at all times
- Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration (multi-state experience preferred)
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, PFML, and other federal/state leave laws
- Understanding of HR compliance and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with integrity
- Experience in the healthcare or dental industry is a plus
