Create compelling written articles of local events and activities as well as local government meetings and functions.
Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and depth in all writing assignments.
Proofread and copy edit all materials for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to AP style or the Chicago Manual of Style as required.
Collaborate with team members to develop content strategies that align with project objectives.
Fact-check information to maintain credibility and reliability in all published works.
Engage in creative writing projects (occasionally) that captivate audiences.
Maintain organized documentation of all written materials for easy reference.

Proven experience in writing across various formats including journalism, copywriting, proposal writing, and technical writing.
Strong proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills that facilitate collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
Familiarity with AP style guidelines as well as the Chicago Manual of Style is preferred.
Proficiency in word processing software and other relevant tools for efficient content creation.
A background in research methodologies to support fact-checking efforts is essential.
