Position Title: E/M Inpatient Medical Coder (IP) Specialty: Inpatient Evaluation & Management Location: Remote / Hybrid Experience: Minimum 3 years U.S. coding experience Openings: 5 Certification Required: CPC / COC / CCS / CCS-P Role Summary: Assign appropriate E/M codes for inpatient encounters based on MDM and time-based documentation guidelines to ensure compliance and revenue integrity. Key Responsibilities: • Review documentation for inpatient consults, progress, and discharge notes. • Apply correct E/M levels based on MDM or total time. • Work with CDI and HIM teams to resolve documentation gaps. Required Skills: • Strong understanding of inpatient E/M and MDM logic. • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding. • Familiarity with CDI and hospital EMR systems. General Requirements (All Roles) • Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, or CRC). • Knowledge of coding guidelines, payer rules, and compliance standards. • Accuracy, productivity, and excellent communication. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
