Title- Profee Coder IV Facility Address- 100% Remote (Los Angeles, CA) Contract Duration: 16 Weeks with possible extension Shift: Days; Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00) Pacific Time; 40 Hours/Week Pay Rate- $74.34/hr on W2 with NO BENEFITS Tentative Start Date: 12/01/2025 Position Summary Under the direction of the manager, the Health Information Coder IV functions as a Lead Coder or performs highly complex coding requiring specialized expertise. This role involves oversight of workflow, productivity, and quality of abstracted data. The coder will act as a technical and informational resource, addressing coding queries, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting denial management. As a Specialized Coder, the incumbent performs Oncology and Infusion Coding using advanced coding knowledge and judgment to ensure compliance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities β’ Review physiciansβ notes and verify documentation compliance. β’ Apply diagnostic and therapeutic codes (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) accurately across multi-specialty areas. β’ Analyze medical documentation for accuracy and completeness. β’ Enter and process charges in Epic according to departmental standards. β’ Identify, document, and report potential compliance risks. β’ Attend coding courses to stay current with Oncology Infusion procedures and diagnostic updates. β’ Liaise with hospital departments to maintain and implement billing codes. β’ Monitor CMS and Medi-Cal websites for high-complex and chemotherapy billing guidelines. β’ Provide coding education and act as a technical resource for other coders. β’ Cross-train within departments to ensure revenue optimization. Qualifications Required Certifications (any one): β’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) β’ Certified Coding Specialist β Physician-based (CCS-P) β’ Certified Professional Coder (CPC) β’ Certified Professional Coder β Hospital (CPC-H) Experience & Skills: β’ Minimum 5 years of acute multi-specialty hospital coding experience. β’ Minimum 2 years of both Pro-Fee and Facility Coding. β’ Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS systems. β’ Experience with Oncology Coding and Infusion Coding highly preferred. β’ Proficiency in Epic (required). β’ Familiarity with CMS and local carrier regulations for teaching hospitals. β’ Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. β’ Ability to lead and serve as a technical resource for other coding staff. Preferred: β’ 4+ years of medical coding experience. β’ Additional specialty coding certifications. β’ Experience as a Medical Record Abstractor. Apply tot his job
