Located in East Central Illinois, we operate "globally," serving a diverse mix of clients, including corporations, partnerships, individuals, estates, trusts, and governmental/non-profit entities. With a team of 25 professionals, we pride ourselves on collaboration and deep technical expertise. Position Summary The Tax Manager will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing tax compliance and planning engagements, and mentoring junior team members. This is a leadership position requiring strong technical knowledge, client-facing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will report directly to the Partners. Key Responsibilities β’ Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and nonprofit tax returns. β’ Manage and develop client relationships by delivering proactive tax planning and strategic advice. β’ Supervise and mentor tax staff and seniors, including reviewing work and providing on-the-job training. β’ Assist in managing firm workflow during tax season and other deadlines. β’ Identify tax savings opportunities and potential exposure areas for clients. β’ Stay current on tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to the team and clients. β’ Represent clients before taxing authorities as needed. β’ Contribute to firm growth through participation in business development, client onboarding, or networking initiatives. β’ Support the Partner group with special projects, tax research, and client advisory services. Qualifications β’ CPA license is required. β’ Bachelorβs degree in Accounting. β’ 5+ years of public accounting experience with increasing responsibility. β’ Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws across a variety of entity types. β’ Experience with tax software (preferably Ultra Tax). β’ Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills. β’ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. β’ Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff.
