Remote Epidemiologist for South Carolina Department of Health (EST Time Zone Required) Contract Length: 13β20 weeks (dependent on need) Hours: 30β50 hours/week Schedule: Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed (overtime available) Pay Rate: $31.74/hr Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Remote Epidemiologist to support public health initiatives through timely disease surveillance, case investigations, and data-driven analysis. This role is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the Eastern Standard Time zone to meet operational needs and collaborate effectively with the team. Key Responsibilities: β’ Conduct disease or case investigations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation β’ Perform surveillance activities, analyze public health data, and support outbreak response β’ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify trends, mitigate risks, and support public health decision-making β’ Prepare clear, concise reports and summaries for internal and external partners β’ Work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed Required Qualifications: β’ Masterβs degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related field β’ 1+year of previous Epidemiologist related work β’ Experience in disease investigation or case investigation (public health, clinical, or government setting preferred) β’ Residency in the EST time zone β’ Strong analytical and communication skills β’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Contract Details: β’ 13β20 week contract depending on program needs β’ 30β50 hours per week with overtime pay provided β’ Fully remote role If you're passionate about protecting community health and ready to support ongoing public health response efforts, we encourage you to apply!
