Job Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Remote AP US History Tutor to help high school students excel in their Advanced Placement (AP) US History exam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in American history, exceptional teaching skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual learning environment. Key Responsibilities: β’ Conduct Online Tutoring Sessions: Provide engaging one-on-one or group tutoring sessions via video conferencing tools, focusing on the AP US History curriculum. β’ Develop Customized Study Plans: Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and create tailored study plans that address individual needs and goals. β’ Teach Core Concepts and Historical Thinking Skills: Instruct students on key historical events, themes, and developments in US history, and develop their historical thinking and writing skills required for the AP exam. β’ Monitor Student Progress: Regularly evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional methods to ensure continuous improvement. β’ Resource Creation: Develop and share practice materials, mock exams, and other resources to enhance learning and preparation for the AP exam. β’ Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes to the AP US History curriculum and exam formats, as well as advancements in online education technology and methods. Qualifications: β’ Educational Background: Bachelorβs degree in History, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees or teaching certifications are a plus. β’ Experience: 1-2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring AP US History, with a proven track record of helping students achieve high scores. β’ Subject Expertise: Deep understanding of the AP US History curriculum and exam structure. β’ Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with online teaching platforms, digital whiteboards, and educational software. β’ Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex historical concepts clearly and effectively. β’ Interpersonal Skills: Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students to foster a supportive learning environment. β’ Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules.
