About the position AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented, and experienced mid-level, Transit / Rail Transportation Planner IV to join our North Texas Transit/Rail team. The successful candidate will have 6β8 years of experience in transit and transportation planning, with a strong background in technical studies, client engagement, and project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of transit planning projects and contribute to the growth of our practice. Responsibilities β’ Serve as a Project Manager and technical specialist for the region in the application of transit planning. β’ Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate complex assignments with full technical responsibility. β’ Manage tasks and/or projects independently or as part of a team. β’ Maintain and grow local client relationships and demonstrate understanding of local markets. β’ Perform and oversee technical studies and prepare reports. β’ Facilitate public and agency outreach and engagement activities. β’ Work with interdisciplinary teams of technical specialists and manage their project-delivery efforts. β’ Assist with proposal development and business development activities. β’ Provide oversight and guidance to junior staff. β’ Mentor planning staff and support a collaborative and inclusive team culture. β’ Participate in client pre-positioning efforts, including attending industry events, supporting capture planning, and contributing to client engagement strategies. β’ Collaborate with business development and technical teams to develop winning proposals, including writing technical content, contributing to scope and approach, and supporting interview preparation. β’ Assist in identifying new opportunities and supporting go/no-go decisions through market research and client intelligence. Requirements β’ BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Nice-to-haves β’ Masterβs degree in Transportation Planning, Regional/Urban Planning, Political Science, Public Administration or a related field. β’ AICP Certified β’ Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills. β’ Knowledge and experience with transportation projects in North Texas. β’ Experience in project management. β’ Technical background and expertise in transit and/or transportation planning. β’ Experience with state and local transportation agencies, and their standards, policies, and practices.
