Conexess Group is aiding a large healthcare client in their search for a SQL DBA in a remote capacity. This is a long-term opportunity with a competitive compensation package. Please note we are unable to provide sponsorship or work c2c for this role. Responsibilities: β€’ Operate and support AWS RDS SQL Server instances across multiple environments, including 24x7 production systems β€’ Perform routine database maintenance including health checks, monitoring, patch validation, index management, and capacity planning β€’ Monitor database performance using Dynatrace and AWS CloudWatch, identify bottlenecks, and drive remediation to improve stability and throughput β€’ Partner with development teams during incidents to analyze and optimize poorly performing processes β€’ Execute backup and restore operations to refresh non-production environments and support testing and recovery scenarios β€’ Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery solutions, including recovery procedures and documentation β€’ Develop and maintain automation for repeatable DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and AWS-native tooling β€’ Support regulated workloads by ensuring adherence to HIPAA and SOX compliance requirements, including auditing and access controls β€’ Participate in an on-call rotation, with after-hours support every other week as needed β€’ Create and maintain clear operational documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures β€’ Collaborate with platform and cloud engineering teams using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices β€’ Support database deployment and change processes using tools such as Liquibase Requirements: β€’ At least 5 years’ experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2019 and 2022) in production environments β€’ Hands-on experience with AWS RDS for SQL Server, including Multi-AZ configurations β€’ Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues in large, high-availability databases β€’ Experience supporting highly regulated environments (HIPAA and/or SOX) β€’ Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell β€’ Familiarity with AWS services such as CloudWatch, SNS/SQS, Lambda, and data integration tools (SSIS, Glue) β€’ Experience participating in incident response and on-call support β€’ Strong documentation skills and attention to operational detail Apply tot his job
