Hi! We are a rapidly growing tax and audit firm (60+ professionals) seeking an experienced, licensed Tax Attorney for a permanent role to join our specialized legal and compliance team. This position is critical for providing high-level legal advisory and defense to a diverse clientele. Core Responsibilities β’ Tax Controversy: Serve as the primary legal representative for clients facing IRS audits, appeals, and state tax examinations. Handle issues related to collections, penalty abatements, and statutes of limitations. β’ Legal Tax Research: Conduct in-depth legal research and draft memoranda on complex federal, state, and international tax law (IRC, regulations, case law). β’ Compliance & Planning: Provide expert legal advice on entity structuring, M&A tax implications, and specialized reporting (e.g., FBAR, FATCA, Forms 3520, 8938, 5471). β’ Estate & Trust Law: Advise on legal aspects of estate and gift tax planning, including the drafting of tax-efficient trusts and wills. β’ Collaboration: Work closely with CPAs and senior partners to develop integrated legal and accounting strategies. Required Qualifications β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree; Active State Bar License in Arizona. β’ Proven ability to interpret and apply the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and regulations. β’ Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills (Professional English proficiency is mandatory). β’ Ability to manage high-stakes deadlines and work longer hours during tax season (February to April).
