Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced HTML Email Developer / Email Designer to help us build high-quality, responsive, and conversion-focused HTML email templates for marketing campaigns and newsletters. Your work must be pixel-perfect, client-compatible (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo, etc.), mobile responsive, and follow best practices for email coding. We will start with 1–2 email templates as a paid trial, then move to ongoing work for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities - Design and/or code responsive HTML email templates - Ensure compatibility across major email clients (especially Outlook) - Follow best practice email coding standards: Table-based layout Inline CSS Supported fonts and fallback styles Proper link tracking and image rendering - Create clean modular templates we can reuse - Build for dark mode where possible (preferred) - Optional but valuable: build emails in Mailchimp / Klaviyo / HubSpot, iContact using their template systems Requirements - *Please only apply if you have: - Proven experience building HTML emails (not web pages) - Strong understanding of: Email client quirks (Outlook rendering issues) Media queries + responsive layout Button compatibility + fallback styling Image scaling + retina support - Familiarity with testing tools such as: Litmus or Email on Acid (preferred) - Ability to provide both desktop and mobile versions - Quick turnaround and clear communication Deliverables (Per Email Template) - For each email template we request: - HTML file (editable, production-ready) - Inline CSS - Web-safe fallback fonts - Image slicing/export (if needed) - Email tested or validated across major clients - If requested: email built into platform (Klaviyo/Mailchimp,iContact etc.) Example Projects We Need We typically require: - Promotional campaign emails - Newsletter layouts - Product launch emails - Event invitation emails - Automated flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, etc.) What to Include in Your Proposal - To be considered, please include: - Links to 2–3 HTML email examples you’ve built (screenshots + HTML preview preferred) - Confirm that you understand email client limitations (especially Outlook) - Confirm what tools you use for testing - Your rate per email template (design only, code only, or both) - Your typical turnaround time Optional Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) - Dark mode optimization - AMP for Email (advanced) - MJML or Foundation for Emails - Klaviyo / Mailchimp / HubSpot, iContact template building - Copywriting or conversion-focused design - Accessibility best practices (ARIA labels, contrast, semantic layout) First Task (Paid Trial) We will start with: - 1 promotional email (desktop + mobile) - Includes: HTML + compatibility-ready code - Must be consistent with our brand guidelines (we’ll provide) If successful, we’ll offer ongoing monthly work.
