Job Title: Lead AWS DevOps Engineer - API Migration Specialist Duration: 6 Months Location: Washington D.C./Remote Pay Range: $55-$60/hr. on w2 Competencies: 8+ years experience required Digital : Spring Boot Digital : Amazon Web Service(AWS) Cloud Computing Java and Python Frameworks Technical/Functional Skills β€’ Expertise in Java and Python-based frameworks. β€’ Proven experience with IaC Pipelines, Especially for Lambda deployments. β€’ Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills for deployment and runtime issues. β€’ Experience working in API migration projects, preferably from MuleSoft to AWS. β€’ Ability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership of DevOps activities. β€’ Strong communication skills and experience coordinating with cross-functional teams. β€’ Experience with serverless architectures and microservices. β€’ Familiarity with observability tools and APM solutions. β€’ Lead and support migration of APIs from MuleSoft to AWS using ECS and Lambda. β€’ Debug and resolve deployment issues, including schema deployments and configuration-related failures. β€’ Collaborate closely with developers and QA teams to resolve build, deployment, and runtime issues. β€’ Take full ownership and responsibility for pipeline execution, deployment reliability, and release coordination. β€’ Ensure adherence to AWS best practices, security, and operational standards. β€’ Provide support during critical deployments, including flexibility to work additional hours or weekends when required. β€’ Design, build, and maintain IaC pipelines from scratch using Jenkins and the Amtrak DevOps framework (Python-based). Infrastructure Automation: β€’ Develop and maintain IaC templates using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for scalable and secure infrastructure provisioning. CI/CD Pipeline Management: β€’ Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD for automated deployments. ECS Cluster Setup & Management: β€’ Create and configure AWS ECS clusters and services, including networking, IAM roles, and auto-scaling policies. Deployment Planning: β€’ Implement deployment strategies such as blue-green and rolling updates to ensure zero downtime. Monitoring & Logging: β€’ Integrate AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools for performance tracking and alerting.
