Bookkeeper / Controller β Remote Location: Remote Salary: $1,250/month (starting) β $1,500/month (after audit phase completion) Bonus: Performance-based bonus per completed audit milestone ABOUT THE ROLE We are hiring a Bookkeeper/Controller to support a group of growing businesses. This role will focus on clean, accurate bookkeeping, historical catch-up reconciliations, weekly reporting, and monthly financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of owning bookkeeping workflows across multiple entities while delivering consistent reporting to leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1) Catch-Up & Audit Phase (Project-Based) β’ Reconcile historical transactions for multiple entities (2023β2025 YTD) β’ Reconcile bank + credit card accounts β’ Ensure accurate categorization of all transactions β’ Produce audit-ready Balance Sheet and P&L β’ Maintain clean AP/AR aging reports β’ Sync customer records between CRM and QuickBooks (when applicable) β’ Confirm reconciliation completion with leadership before closing each entity 2) Ongoing Weekly & Monthly Responsibilities β’ Weekly reconciliations across all assigned businesses β’ Weekly reporting package including: β’ Summary of income/expenses vs prior period β’ AP/AR aging and due dates β’ Trend flags (unexpected spend, missed income, anomalies) β’ Monthly financial statements: β’ P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow β’ Budget vs Actual analysis β’ Savings opportunities and performance insights TOOLS & SYSTEMS β’ QuickBooks Online (required) β’ CRM tools (nice to have) β’ Google Drive / shared folders β’ Loom or screen recording for explanations (preferred) WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE β’ Books are accurate and up to date at all times β’ Leadership receives actionable weekly financial visibility β’ Discrepancies are resolved quickly (no stale items) β’ Reporting is consistent, clean, and decision-useful β’ Problems are flagged early (no surprises) IDEAL PROFILE β’ Strong bookkeeping + reconciliation experience β’ Highly organized and reliable in a remote environment β’ Comfortable working independently and managing multiple entities β’ Strong communication skills and ability to document issues clearly β’ Proactive, detail-focused, and improvement-driven REQUIREMENTS β’ Professional remote setup and reliable internet. β’ Strong Zoom presence and professional communication. β’ Introductory video submission required as part of the hiring process.
