- Perform regulatory activities to determine compliance with state and/or federal Medicare/Medicaid requirements
- Conduct independent administrative investigations of unlicensed health care workers in various health care settings
- Testify frequently in administrative hearings
- Complete documentation using computer and database access
- Frequent travel including some overnights and lifting/carrying of laptop computer and other equipment.
- Work independently under supervision of a regional supervisor
- Requirements:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
- One year of experience in the area of specialization
- Strong clinical background, including considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease process, body systems, and current clinical diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Demonstrated ability to use computer technology and complete work assignments electronically
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills to conduct, review, gather, assess, and evaluate information for compliance with applicable standards
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a vehicle
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes and travel as required.
