- Mercor is seeking **native Japanese speakers who live in Japan** for a short-term project with a leading AI lab. These candidates should have excellent written and verbal Japanese skills as well as intimate familiarity with Japanese culture.

## **Role Responsibilities**
- Synthesize personal expertise to write documentation to help train AI models.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to refine documentation and perfect write-ups.
- Identify domain-specific local language and cultural nuances of different hobbies and day-to-day life.
- Provide linguistic or culturally relevant insights that help improve model behavior in Japanese contexts.

## **Ideal Candidates Should Have:**
- **Native-Level Proficiency**: Fluent in Japanese and strong English comprehension.
- **Educational Background**: Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- **Analytical Abilities:** Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- **Nice to Haves**
- Experience with grading, instructional design, or rubric development is a plus.
- Familiarity with generative AI models or machine learning concepts is a bonus, but not required.

- Expect to contribute at least **20 hours per week**.
- You’ll be working in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools.
