Job Description
Technology Operations Specialist ensures stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the Production environment. You’ll troubleshoot multi‑platform issues, drive proactive monitoring, support incident/problem/change processes, and partner with technical teams to improve operational readiness and reliability.
Full time Direct Hire
Remote either in the Chicago or Dallas Area
3rd Shift 10:30 PM to 7 AM
Tuesday through Saturday
- Responsibilities
- Monitor production systems, analyze alerts, and identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Lead or support incident response (SWAT) for high‑priority issues.
- Diagnose complex problems across Mainframe, Linux/Unix, Windows, Cloud, Network, and Storage.
- Support scheduling jobs, MQ, transmissions (SFTP/NDM), backups/restores, and mainframe commands (including IPLs).
- Maintain logs, documentation, and runbooks; document incidents in ServiceNow/Remedy.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to tune applications and promote best ITIL practices.
- Support production installs, DR testing, and industry testing.
- Drive automation and operational standardization.
- Provide 24×7 support coverage as needed.
- Qualifications
- 5+ years in Technology Operations or similar role.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience working with technical teams, vendors, and business partners.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Technical Skills
- Multi‑platform expertise: Mainframe (OS390/JCL), Linux/Unix, Windows, Storage.
- Scheduling tools (UC4/Control‑M).
- AWS and cloud tooling.
- Network fundamentals, MQ operations, Splunk.
- Understanding of enterprise environments and monitoring systems.
- Financial/clearing industry experience preferred.
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
- Preferred: ITIL certification, AWS Cloud Practitioner.
Salary range: $97k-$117k + bonus
