About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Payroll Accountant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is responsible for performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end close processes, and handling payroll-related tasks for approximately 850 employees. The ideal candidate will have experience with Workday Payroll ERP systems and a strong experience in payroll accounting.
- Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Generate and format payroll reports required for payroll processing before the pay period and submission deadline.
- Ensure accurate deduction and payroll tax calculations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll accounting experience.
- Proficiency in payroll reconciliation.
- Experience with journal entries and general ledger posting.
- Month-end close experience.
- Ability to process payroll for 850 employees.
- Proficiency in Workday Payroll ERP system.
- Skill in handling benefit, garnishment, and tax deductions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Nice-to-haves
- Experience with cloud-based payroll systems, particularly Workday.
- Strong customer service skills, especially in handling difficult situations.
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP.
- Previous government work experience is a plus.
