We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Broker / Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. - Duties
- Coordinate and manage transportation requests by matching shippersβ needs with reliable carriers using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and CRM software.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining high service standards.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients and carriers through effective account management and inside sales strategies.
- Facilitate freight dispatching, data entry, and tracking via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and AS400 systems to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage B2B sales processes by lead generation, prospecting new clients, and closing freight deals that align with supply chain objectives.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards during transportation planning and logistics operations.
- Handle carrier sales, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals to maximize profitability and service quality.
- Oversee logistics sales activities including freight quoting, capacity planning, and transportation management system utilization for optimal routing.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, dispatching details, contracts, and customer interactions to support data-driven decision-making.
- Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales roles within a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), or freight brokerage environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, carrier relations, and freight forwarding operations.
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales, account management, negotiation, and lead generation within the logistics sector.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI platforms, AS400 systems, and data entry procedures.
- Understanding of FDA regulations related to transportation compliance is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships through inside sales efforts.
