Job Description
I own a growing fresh dog food delivery business built on Shopify and need a developer to create and install a simple, clean feeding calculator on my website.
The goal is to allow potential customers to enter basic information about their dog and instantly receive:
Daily feeding amount (lbs/day and oz/day)
Weekly amount (lbs/week)
Approximate number of 1 lb containers needed per week
This should be lightweight, fast, mobile-friendly, and integrated cleanly into my Shopify theme.
Calculator Inputs
The calculator should allow users to input:
Dog’s weight (lbs)
Goal:
Maintain weight
Lose weight
Feeding formulas:
Maintain weight = 2.5% of body weight per day
Weight loss = 2.0% of body weight per day
Outputs:
Daily feeding amount (lbs + oz)
Weekly amount (lbs/week)
Containers per week (1 container = 1 lb)
The calculator should display results dynamically without reloading the page.
Technical Requirements
Built directly into Shopify (no third-party quiz app)
Clean, minimal UI that matches brand styling
Mobile optimized
Lightweight (no heavy scripts)
Easy for me to edit later (clear code comments preferred)
Installed on a dedicated page (e.g. /feeding-calculator)
Deliverables
Fully functioning calculator installed on Shopify
Clean styling consistent with existing theme
Brief Loom video walkthrough showing:
How to edit percentages if needed
Where the code lives
Testing across desktop and mobile
