$50.00/hr - $80.00/hr
Position: Insurance Underwriters
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $50–$80/hr
Location: Remote
Commitment: 30+ hours/week
Duration: ~6 weeks
- Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance applications, loss histories, and third-party reports to determine underwriting acceptability.
- Calculate premiums using ISO manuals, class codes, and company‑specific rating logic.
- Analyze historical claims data to assess loss trends and loss ratios.
- Draft and review policy terms, endorsements, and declarations.
- Review referred underwriting cases and provide documented decisions with clear risk rationale.
- Support the improvement of automated underwriting and risk assessment workflows.
- Requirements
- Strong experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting.
- Strong experience working with underwriting platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar systems.
- Strong familiarity with ISO classification codes, rating manuals, and policy forms.
- Strong ability to assess risk using multi‑source data inputs.
- Experience reviewing third‑party reports including CLUE, MVR, and LexisNexis.
- High attention to detail and sound underwriting judgment across multiple lines of business.
