Position Summary
ACMT is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst & Quality Assurance Associate to support ongoing surveillance initiatives and research projects. This role will focus on analytic support, and preparation of research outputs including abstracts, manuscripts, and reports.
This role will also include data quality monitoring, cleaning and validating data, and addressing data inconsistencies and inaccuracies to ensure it meets quality standards and supports research and public health objectives.
The ideal candidate brings strong applied data analysis skills, experience working with real-world clinical or public health datasets, and a demonstrated record of supporting research dissemination and data quality/control assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Research Support
Conduct statistical analyses for observational studies and surveillance projects, including but not limited to, descriptive summaries and bivariate/univariate statistics
Clean, manage, and transform large, complex datasets for analysis
Develop reproducible analytic workflows in R or similar statistical software
Generate tables, figures, and summaries for manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations
Data Quality Assurance
Monitor data completeness, consistency, and validity across contributing sites using Research for Electronic Data Capture (REDCap)
Develop and implement quality checks, audit procedures, and documentation
Identify data anomalies (e.g., missingness, inconsistencies) and work collaboratively with project staff
Support continuous improvement of data collection processes
Scientific Output & Collaboration
Contribute to abstracts, manuscripts, presentations to funding agencies, and technical reports
Support grant-funded research deliverables and timelines, including descriptive data reports
Collaborate with site investigators, epidemiologists, and project leadership across ToxIC programs
Required Qualifications
Masterβs degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or related field
Minimum of 1-3 years of post-graduate professional experience in data analysis, research, or public health surveillance
Demonstrated experience contributing to manuscripts, abstracts, and/or research reports
Proficiency in R or other statistical software
Proficiency with REDCap and systematically generating reports
Experience conducting quality assurance and/or data quality checks
Experience working with real-world healthcare, clinical, or public health datasets
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and reproducibility
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multicenter research networks or surveillance systems
Background in substance use, toxicology, healthcare, emergency medicine, or public health
Experience with data visualization and reporting for scientific audiences
