Job Description
About UB9
UB9 is a micro-investment company that acquires profitable companies across communications, logistics, manufacturing, energy, tech, consumer goods, agriculture, and more. Our mission is to empower underserved communities by reinvesting growth into local ownership and development.
We need an analytical, sharp M&A Analyst to support due diligence and deal structuring.
UB9 is currently in its foundational build phase. Capital deployment will begin once the platform reaches 1,000,000 members.
Estimated role activation: approximately 6–8 months.
Selected professionals will be engaged in advance and formally activated when capital deployment begins. This allows UB9 to build a disciplined operating structure prior to execution.
If you are seeking immediate full-time work, this opportunity may not be the right fit. This role is ideal for professionals open to fractional activation aligned with long-term vision.
Role Overview
You will support UB9 by analyzing acquisition targets, preparing valuation models, reviewing financials, conducting industry research, and building investment memos.
This is an excellent role for someone with private-equity, search-fund, venture-studio, or M&A background who enjoys wearing many hats.
Responsibilities
Conduct financial due diligence on acquisition targets.
Build valuation models (DCF, comps, multiples).
Evaluate business systems, customer concentration, operational risks.
Prepare investment memos and acquisition summaries.
Assist in sourcing companies from brokers, marketplaces, and direct outreach.
Support the Founder and Attorney during negotiation phases.
Ideal Candidate
3–7+ years in M&A, private equity, consulting, or investment banking.
Strong Excel, modeling, and valuation skills.
Ability to assess multiple industries quickly.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Mission-driven with interest in social-impact investing.
Ground Up Participation (Required)
As part of UB9’s transparency and trust-building strategy, selected operators will participate in Ground Up — a structured, behind-the-scenes documentation of how experienced professionals think, build systems, manage risk, and execute decisions.
This is not a television show.
It is a professional documentation series highlighting decision-making, process, and outcomes.
Participation requirements:
5–10 minutes of recorded insight every 10 days
Prompt-based reflections
Focused on your professional framework, systems, and execution philosophy
Simple remote recording (no production complexity)
Ground Up is designed to:
Build trust with future members
Highlight operator discipline and expertise
Showcase your professional approach
Provide long-term visibility and positioning
There is no guaranteed compensation tied to Ground Up participation unless the project generates revenue in the future.
This opportunity is best suited for professionals who are interested in:
Building something from the ground up
Establishing legacy-level work
Contributing to a structured mission
Gaining visibility for their expertise
Are you comfortable participating in a structured documentation series (5–10 minutes every 10 days) focused on your professional decision-making and systems approach?
Compensation
Project-based.
Potential transition to full-time or Portfolio Manager role as UB9 expands.
