Role Description
- Zayo is seeking a Technical Project Manager - Network Monitoring and Telemetry. Successful candidates will join the Monitoring and Telemetry Technology to provide project management support of all initiatives at Zayo. The Project Manager (PM) will oversee projects related to network performance, security, monitoring, and telemetry.
- Responsible for overall project management of the team’s delivery
- Emphasis on end-to-end milestone management, budget tracking, and reporting
- Identification and resolution of issues ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-value completion of assigned projects
- Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Track and report real-time updates
- Define, measure, and report on key project performance metrics
- Manage project dependencies to make essential decisions based on project management milestones
- Strong organizational and personal communication skills are critical
- Attention to detail required for constant interaction with internal support teams, vendors, and customers
NOTE: The team is open to this role working in a remote capacity within the United States.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or eight years of relevant telecommunications experience
- Minimum of five years of project management experience, with 3 years specifically in the telecommunications industry
- Familiarity/experience with optical fiber technical specifications, testing, and link engineering fundamentals
- Familiarity with DWDM network architectures (i.e. FOADM/ROADM/PON/fixed and flex grid) and signal flow
- Familiarity/experience with the following network platforms: Ciena, Cyan, Nortel, Infinera, Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, ADVA, Fujitsu, CradlePoint/Carrier SIM Ordering
- Familiarity with Metasolv/M6 database is a plus
- Understanding of network design, IP subnetting, and routing protocols
- Experience with multiple types of telecommunications facility environments
- Experience in managing third-party telecommunications partners
- Proven experience in documenting process workflows
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite of tools with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint or similar Google G Suite tools
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com platform is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication/negotiating skills required toward technical/non-technical audiences
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while being a constructive contributor to a team
- Effective time management skills and critical thinking
- Ability/willingness to operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Requirements
- Estimated base salary range: $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually
- The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role
- Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs
- Non-sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan
