Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Document Review Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mission by aggregating and organizing vital case law pertaining to animal agriculture farms. Your work will directly support our subject matter experts in conducting impactful studies and informing our advocacy efforts.

- Job Requirements
- Retrieve, clean, and aggregate data from various sources, such as case law, amicus briefs, and other legal decision documents, related to animal agriculture farms.
- Organize and maintain databases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for subject matter experts.
- Assist in developing and improving data collection processes and tools.
- Perform basic data analysis and identify trends or anomalies to support internal research initiatives.
- Generate preliminary reports and visualizations to present aggregated data in a clear and understandable format.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand their data needs and provide necessary support.
- Document data sources, methodologies, and quality control procedures.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data management and analytical capabilities within the organization.
- Attend planning and working group meetings.
- Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a data-related role, internships, or academic projects demonstrating data handling skills.
- Law background with sufficient understanding of criminal and civil case law procedures.
- Experience researching and analyzing case law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Proficiency in R or Python for data processing & visualization
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A passion for animal welfare, environmental sustainability, or related causes.
- Preferred Qualifications
- A law degree (e.g., J.D., LLM)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Economics) or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio) or a willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of SQL or other database querying languages.
- Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
- Experience with, or knowledge of, agricultural data or farming practices.
Expect to be paid $21 per hour based on the location of the candidate and skill level.
This position is fully remote.
