What You'll Do As a VDC/BIM Specialist, you will take the lead on BIM/VDC tasks for key electrical construction projects: Core Responsibilities Lead BIM/VDC modeling and coordination on high‑priority projects needing extra attention. Communicate clearly with internal teams, managers, engineers, and field staff to resolve issues quickly and professionally. Work independently while keeping the VDC/BIM Manager updated on progress, challenges, and resource needs. Produce accurate model layouts, system coordination, shop drawings, and as‑built documents . Maintain proper IPD workflows and deliver models that meet all LOD and contractual requirements . Stay current with the latest BIM technologies, tools, and industry trends. Coordinate electrical system layouts to meet project specifications and Electrical Code standards. Run clash detection, communicate issues efficiently, and support timely resolutions. Develop detailed 3D models, construction drawings, and immersive walkthroughs using Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Showcase . Design‑Build / Design‑Assist Responsibilities Support Engineering and Preconstruction during early design phases—even when documents are incomplete. Assist with one‑line diagrams, load calculations, electrical room layouts, feeder routes, and lighting/power plans . Validate constructability and provide early design insight to engineers and the field. Coordinate with other trades and support scheduling efforts. Provide on‑site BIM support; verify installations, track changes, and maintain accurate digital documentation. Extract quantities, BOMs, and schedules directly from the BIM model. Work with vendors to integrate new modeling tools and technologies. Provide layout guidance to PMs and superintendents to optimize design before it's finalized. What You Bring 2+ years of BIM/VDC experience or equivalent education/training Minimum 1 year of BIM modeling experience in mission‑critical environments Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Proficiency with Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Bluebeam Adaptability with new software and digital tools A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset and passion for innovation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
