Contract to Hire

We are seeking an experienced Flexera ITAM Lead to drive the implementation and ongoing optimization of a Flexera-centric Software Asset Management (SAM) program. This individual will serve as the primary functional administrator for Flexera Asset Management Enterprise and lead the design, governance, compliance, and automation efforts across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with Flexera One, broad knowledge of the Flexera SaaS suite, strong licensing expertise (including Enterprise License Positions - ELPs), and the ability to translate publisher contracts into accurate compliance positions. This role will partner with IT, Finance, Procurement, and executive leadership to ensure audit readiness, optimize software spend, and deliver measurable ROI.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation & Program Leadership
- Lead a new enterprise implementation of Flexera ITAM/SAM capabilities
- Serve as the primary functional administrator for Flexera Asset Management Enterprise
- Design, build, and mature a scalable, Flexera-centric Software Asset Management program
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and governance frameworks
- Drive automation and best practices across IT asset lifecycle management Software Licensing & Compliance
- Maintain and govern the enterprise license database within Flexera
- Perform complex license reconciliations and generate accurate compliance positions
- Produce audit-ready Effective License Positions (ELPs) for Tier 1 publishers including:
- Microsoft
- Adobe
- Oracle
- VMware
- IBM
- Interpret complex publisher contracts and entitlement agreements
- Ensure continuous audit readiness and risk mitigation Financial & Strategic Analysis
- Analyze software usage data to identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities
- Perform financial modeling and ROI analysis using Flexera reporting
- Track KPIs and deliver executive-level reporting on compliance, risk exposure, and savings
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to support renewal and negotiation strategies Stakeholder & SME Leadership
- Act as the enterprise subject matter expert on software licensing and compliance
- Advise leadership on licensing strategy, contract interpretation, and audit defense
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Security, Finance, and Legal teams Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Software Asset Management (SAM)/IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience
- Hands-on expertise with Flexera One
- Experience leading or participating in a full Flexera implementation
- Strong understanding of Enterprise License Positions (ELPs) and audit defense
- Deep knowledge of Tier 1 publisher licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMware, Adobe)
- Proven experience performing complex reconciliations and compliance calculations
- Strong financial acumen with ability to perform ROI and cost-optimization analysis
- Experience designing and implementing SAM governance frameworks Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Flexera SaaS Management module
- Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro
- Experience integrating ITAM tools with CMDBs, procurement systems, and discovery tools
- ITIL or SAM certifications a plus What Success Looks Like
