The Business Intelligence Developer is a key member of client's organization who works with business stakeholders to help derive meaningful business insights from large, complex datasets. The role will leverage the Microsoft platform/s to plan, design, code, test, debug, configure and document data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in analysis, design and development of ETL processes to facilitate data collection and transformation
- Create and maintain Analysis Services cubes used for standardized and ad-hoc reporting
- Use visualization best practices to design highly visible, enterprise-wide Power BI dashboards and reports
- Work with Business Intelligence Analyst to estimate system issue resolution or new implementation efforts
- Conduct group and individual training sessions on cube and reporting solutions
- Work with cross-functional team members to understand business processes and recommend technical solutions that present data in an efficient and meaningful way to our digital, sales, finance, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with other IT departments to understand and optimize data flow, data ownership and data quality
- Act as a data champion, driving the adoption of self-service BI
- Coach and mentor other team members on BI concepts and technologies
- Key Skills:
- 5+ years experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence platform (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)
- 5+ years SQL programming with Microsoft SQL
- 5+ years' experience developing BI applications with large scale deployment
- Extensive experience with tabular models, data warehousing and data modeling with structured and unstructured sources
- Highly proficient in developing DAX functions and using PowerBI to create reports and dashboards
- Experience with Azure SQL and cloud technologies
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong experience in software engineering best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Customer-service mindset with the desire to add value to the company
- Fast learner who seeks to understand not only the data, but what the data means to the business
- Comfortable leading meetings and conducting training sessions as needed
- Self-driven with ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
- Strong time management, planning, and prioritization experience
