Role Description

    As Program Manager III, you will manage designated programs and systems while serving as a liaison between the department, external communities, and internal offices. You will oversee the intake and review of approximately 17,000 annual conflict-of-interest disclosures, identifying and managing potential conflicts in compliance with federal regulations and organizational policy. This includes:
  • Developing management plans
  • Limiting compensation or scope of services
  • Reviewing outside contracts
  • Collaborating with Cleveland Clinic Innovations and the Law Department
  • Educating staff on conflict-of-interest rules
  • Using disclosure management software to support compliance

Approximately 75% of this work is in the context of biomedical research, with a focus on conflicts of interest in research activities.

A caregiver in this role works remotely in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.

  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain operational systems and activities
  • Serve as a liaison with all levels of the organization and outside the community
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines
  • Allocate time to meet completion requirements
  • Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department
  • Review and monitor adherence to Human Resources policies and corporate compliance procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field and five years of related experience OR Master's Degree and four years of experience
  • Knowledge of statistical and financial analysis, primary research and business plan development
  • Strong presentation, communication and training skills
    Requirements
  • Masterโ€™s degree (preferred)
  • Experience in healthcare settings (preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying federal conflict of interest (COI) regulations, including NIH COI rules governing biomedical research, as well as COI policies and requirements from other federal research agencies (preferred)
  • Significant experience interpreting, developing, and implementing COI policies within a large academic medical center, research institution, or similar complex organizational environment (preferred)
  • Strong background in designing and delivering COI-related education and training for faculty, physicians, researchers, and administrative staff (preferred)
  • Familiarity with COI disclosure, review, and management systems, including software platforms used for collecting disclosures, managing COI workflows, and producing compliance documentation (preferred)
  • Ability to analyze complex COI scenarios and recommend appropriate management strategies (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience drafting policy documents, guidance materials, or training content (preferred)
    Physical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs
