Monitors conditions in the operating room, assesses needs of the patient and surgical team, and obtains additional instruments, supplies, and equipment as necessary. Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment, providing orientation, training, and education to new personnel. Promotes a safe environment, takes appropriate action in emergency situations, and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and policies. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: β’ Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. β’ Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation. β’ Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry. β’ Knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws. β’ Ability to understand and process dictated instructions and directions.
