Job Description
I am looking for an experienced ethical security researcher / OSINT specialist to conduct a thorough, completely legal investigation into any publicly available or previously leaked Crypto.com user data.
Scope of work:
Search major breach databases (Have I Been Pwned, DeHashed, Snusbase, etc.)
Monitor and search dark web marketplaces and forums for any Crypto.com-related data dumps or mentions (2021–2026)
Check known incidents, including the 2022 account compromise and the 2023 Scattered Spider-linked employee phishing incident and a suspected 2025 incident.
(We will provide) Look for exposed user information such as emails, phone numbers, account identifiers, partial balances, transaction history, or other PII linked to Crypto.com
Provide a detailed report with findings, timestamps, sources/links (where legal and public), and an assessment of whether specific user data patterns match reported leaks
Important requirements:
100% legal and ethical only – No unauthorized access, no hacking, no cracking, no social engineering, no illegal tools or methods. All work must use publicly available sources and legitimate OSINT techniques.
You must have proven experience in breach data research, dark web monitoring, and OSINT for corporate or legal investigations.
Strong understanding of data breach disclosure laws and ethical boundaries.
Ability to deliver a professional, well-documented report (PDF) with screenshots and verifiable sources.
What you will deliver:
Comprehensive written report summarizing all findings
List of any confirmed or suspected Crypto.com data leaks with details
Assessment of relevance to a specific user incident (details provided under NDA)
Recommendations for next steps (if any public data is found)
Required skills / experience:
OSINT tools and techniques
Experience with breach databases and dark web monitoring services
Previous work on data leak investigations (especially fintech/crypto preferred)
Excellent English writing and reporting skills
Professional references or portfolio of similar ethical research projects
Contract terms:
Fixed-price project to start (budget $200–$500 depending on depth and experience)
All findings are confidential and for private legal/investigative use only
Timeline: 1 week but a big bonus if you deliver the data we are looking for.
