JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you considering transitioning from your current role as a Paralegal to becoming a Digital Reporter? As a Paralegal - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your primary responsibility would involve overseeing civil litigation proceedings and capturing all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools.
- The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
- Overseeing proceedings as an unbiased custodian of the record.
- Administering oaths to witnesses and carrying out responsibilities as a State Notary.
- Utilizing advanced audio technology to accurately record proceedings.
- Accurately annotating case events and terminology for precise transcription.
- Performing thorough research and validating information from diverse sources.
- Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.
- REQUIREMENTS
- State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
- Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
- Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
- Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings
- Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
- Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
- Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
- Willingness to work as an independent contractor
- Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
- Willing to work both remotely and in person.
