Job Description:
Johnson & Johnson Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) Digital Engineering is recruiting for a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Data Model Lead, located at a J&J site in the United States.
Role Summary
The BIM Data Model Lead is responsible for defining, governing, and optimizing the data structures, templates, and content standards that underpin Building Information Modeling (BIM) across capital projects and in alignment with the facility lifecycle. This role ensures BIM data is structured, consistent, and decision-ready, enabling reliable analytics, automation, and lifecycle use across design, engineering, construction, and operations.
- Reporting into the Digital Engineering organization, this role serves as the link between BIM execution and enterprise data governance, ensuring BIM models support downstream use cases including reporting, dashboards, digital workflows, data catalogs, and long-term system and asset information management.Responsibilities
- Define and maintain BIM data models, master data, standards, and templates, ensuring consistency across projects, regions, and delivery partners.
- Own BIM content libraries, including parameter definitions, naming conventions, and structured data requirements.
- Establish and carry out BIM data governance, including data quality standards, audits, and compliance to defined schemas.
- Optimize BIM data structures to support templated design, digital workflows, advanced analytics, dashboards, and digital engineering use cases.
- Partner with design, engineering, construction, operations, digital, and external partners to ensure BIM data is accurate, complete, and fit for purpose.
- Enable workflow automation through structured BIM data and standardized content.
- Support development and deployment of BIM analytics and dashboards that provide actionable project insights, driving improved decision-making, cost reduction, and efficiency across project lifecycles.
- Provide training and ongoing support to project teams on BIM data standards, templates, and guidelines. Education, Experience & Technical Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Systems, or related field required.
- 6-8 years of related experience working with BIM, Virtual Design and Construction, digital engineering, or design data in capital project and/or facility lifecycle environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading BIM standards, templates, and content libraries.
- Strong proficiency with BIM authoring and coordination platforms (e.g., Revit, Autodesk Forma (ACC), and related BIM tools).
- Strong understanding of capital project delivery workflows and how BIM data is used across design, construction, handover, and operations.
- Ability to translate technical data requirements into clear, usable standards and guidelines for project teams.
- Experience working in large, complex organizations with multiple customers and external delivery partners. Technical & Digital Skills Preferred
- Experience defining and leading BIM data schemas, parameters, and metadata structures.
- Familiarity with BIM analytics, dashboards, and data extraction techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel for data validation and audits).
- Experience with collaboration and data environments (e.g., CDEs, SharePoint, Teams).
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or data workflows supporting BIM (e.g., Dynamo, APIs) is a plus. Additional Requirements

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $177,100.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The expected base pay range for this position, in the Bay Area, is $118,000 - $203,550.
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off - 80 hours per calendar year
