Adjunct ESL Instructor (Part-Time, On-Campus)
NextGen University of Florida is seeking qualified Adjunct ESL Instructors to support its upcoming academic launch. This is a part-time, on-campus instructional role for faculty interested in contributing to the foundational stages of a newly established institution. Courses are expected to begin following anticipated regulatory approval, with instruction planned for the upcoming academic term.
Position Overview
The Adjunct ESL Instructor will be responsible for delivering English as a Second Language (ESL) courses in a face-to-face learning environment. Ideal candidates are experienced educators who are comfortable teaching diverse student populations and working within a startup university setting.
- Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, on-campus ESL instruction aligned with approved course syllabi
- Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and language-learning activities
- Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Support students’ academic and language development goals
- Maintain academic integrity and adhere to institutional and regulatory standards
- Participate in required onboarding, training, and compliance-related activities
- Collaborate with academic leadership as programs and curricula continue to develop
- Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in ESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English, or a closely related field (PhD preferred)
- Prior higher education teaching experience required
- Experience teaching ESL to adult learners strongly preferred
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) for grading and course support
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Ability to work on campus in the local area
