<strong>About This Position<br><br></strong>Over 52 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in 2025, making it one of the busiest airports in the country and the 5th-largest city in the nation. PHX is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports), which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an annual economic impact of over $44 billion.<br><br>The Aviation Department has a vacancy for an Aviation Supervisor III position. This position is assigned to the Public Safety & Security Division, Safety and Emergency Preparedness Section and is responsible for various regulatory initiatives including and not limited to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Part 139 Subpart E Airport Safety Management System, Airport Emergency Management and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910 (General Industry Regulations & Standards).<br><br>This position will supervise Safety Analysts II and provide administrative and operational support for the safety and emergency preparedness regulatory compliance programs. This position will report directly to the Emergency Preparedness Manager (Superintendent).<br><br><strong>Duties For The Position Include<br><br></strong><ul><li>A variety of managerial and technical tasks in an airport section, including administrative duties such as technical report writing, monitoring budgets, human resource management, developing, and implementing formal procedures.</li><li>Customer service and stakeholder engagement.</li><li>Collaborating with outside agencies and operations duties such as construction and project management, and security functions.</li><li>Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Chapter 4, Article IV of the Phoenix City Code, FAA Part 139 Subpart E Airport Safety Management System, and OSHA programs applicable to City Aviation Department staff. Also assists in managing the Airport Emergency Plan and other contingency plans, as necessary</li><li>Oversee and lead safety and emergency preparedness training. </li><li>Public presentations and addressing concerns in person (face to face), virtually, and through written correspondence. </li><li>Assist with the management, facilitation, development, implementation, correspondence, etc. of programs and compliance measures associated with the Emergency Preparedness section.<br><br></li></ul>IDEAL CANDIDATE<br><br><ul><li>Strong customer service skills and stakeholder engagement experience.</li><li>Strong comprehension, implementation, and application of the Federal Aviation Administration Part 139 regulations, FAA Advisory Circulars, OSHA 1910 regulations, Aviation industry standards, State statutes, and City ordinances.</li><li>Ability to give public presentations and addressing concerns in person (face to face), virtually, and through written correspondence.<br><br></li></ul>SALARY<br><br>Pay Range: $63,044.80 - $113,193.60 annually.<br><br>Hiring Range: $63,044.80 - $102,668.80 annually.<br><br><strong>Pay Range Explanation<br><br></strong><ul><li>Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.</li><li>Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
