- Supporting organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in collaboration with the CFO and department leaders
- Partnering with program teams to develop and monitor program and departmental budgets and track financial performance
- Preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis for leadership and program teams
- Managing financial aspects of foundation, government, and international donor grants, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting
- Collaborating with the Development team to prepare grant proposal budgets and funding forecasts
- Monitoring restricted funding and ensuring compliance with donor financial requirements and reporting obligations, including cost allowability and documentation requirements
- Working closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and grant activity, and to support the monthly close and financial reporting processes
- Collaborating with the Assistant Controller and CFO on financial reporting for leadership and the Board, audit preparation, and maintaining strong financial controls and procedures
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
- 5–7+ years of nonprofit finance or accounting experience, preferably in a grant-funded environment
- Experience managing foundation, government, and international donor grants in a multi-donor funding environment (e.g., USAID, EU, UN agencies, or other bilateral or multilateral funders)
- Familiarity with donor compliance, financial reporting, cost allowability, and audit requirements for government or foreign agency funding
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting skills
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance staff and program teams
- Experience with financial accounting systems and general ledger software; Intacct or similar nonprofit accounting systems preferred
- Experience preparing program, departmental, and grant budgets, including shared cost allocations
- Strong organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills
