Data Reporting Analyst – Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR)Contract Length: 12 monthsPay Rate: $25–$29/hourLocation: Remote (candidates must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho)Job SummaryThe Data Reporting Analyst for Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) leads analytical, technical, and reporting efforts to support an enterprise IDR program within the healthcare insurance space. This role is responsible for developing metrics, dashboards, and insights that help stakeholders understand IDR volume, cost drivers, trends, and financial impact.Working closely with Appeals, Program Management, Technology Services, and leadership teams, the analyst transforms complex IDR and claims data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision‑making, risk mitigation, and operational improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & ReportingDevelop and maintain comprehensive tracking metrics for IDR cases, including volume trends, resolution outcomes, cost analysis, and financial impactDesign, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility into IDR performance and riskWrite complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sourcesConduct root cause and trend analysis to identify drivers of IDR volume, cost, and outcomesTechnical & Data CollaborationPartner with Technology Services to improve IDR data collection, storage, and reporting processesSupport data architecture enhancements to strengthen data quality, integrity, and usabilityValidate and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and reliability across reporting outputsDevelop automated reporting solutions to reduce manual effort and increase efficiencyStrategic Insights & CommunicationTranslate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical audiencesProvide data‑driven recommendations to reduce IDR volume, costs, and adverse outcomesPresent findings to leadership, program teams, and cross‑functional stakeholdersSupport ad hoc analysis requests tied to operational and regulatory needsCross‑Functional PartnershipCollaborate with Appeals teams to understand IDR workflows and data requirementsAlign reporting and metrics with program goals and regulatory expectationsEducate stakeholders on IDR trends, metrics, and business impactSupport leadership decision‑making through timely, accurate analysisDocumentation & QualityMaintain documentation for data sources, methodologies, and reporting processesFollow data quality and assurance best practicesParticipate in peer reviews to ensure accuracy and consistencyManage timelines effectively and communicate risks or blockers proactivelyRequired QualificationsStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detailAdvanced SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasetsExperience building dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similarAdvanced Excel skills for data analysis and reportingStrong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting data to diverse audiencesAbility to work independently and collaborate across technical and non‑technical teamsUnderstanding of healthcare insurance operations, claims, or dispute resolution processesFamiliarity with IDR or regulatory healthcare workflows (No Surprises Act knowledge preferred)Preferred QualificationsExperience with Python, R, SAS, Alteryx, or similar analytical toolsExperience leveraging AI or automation tools to enhance analytics and productivityBackground in healthcare analytics, claims analysis, appeals, or dispute resolutionKnowledge of healthcare finance and cost analysis methodologiesEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, healthcare administration, business analytics, or a related field2–3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within healthcare or insuranceEquivalent combinations of education and experience will be consideredEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
