Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Heart + Paw is a company focused on reimagining pet care by providing full-service veterinary centers. The Construction + Facilities Manager will oversee the construction of new veterinary hospitals and renovations, manage project budgets, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Responsibilities
- Mange construction of new veterinary hospitals and renovation projects from concept through completion
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to determine project specifications
- Oversee bidding, vendor negotiations, and contract management
- Manage project schedules, milestones, and budgets to ensure successful delivery
- Review and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and structural drawings
- Hire and manage contractors, vendors, and consultants
- Supervise general contractors and construction teams, providing guidance and oversight as needed
- Oversee the permitting process and ensure projects meet regulatory requirements
- Investigate and resolve project issues such as delays, safety concerns, or damage
- Manage budgets for small to medium-sized construction projects
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and financial performance
- Identify and mitigate risk throughout the construction lifecycle
- Oversee facilities repairs and maintenance across existing veterinary centers
- Manage facilities specialist responsible for maintenance and repair requests
- Evaluate facility issues and provide recommendations for repairs and improvements
- Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a construction related field such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Building Science
- Proven experience managing construction projects from planning through completion
- Expertise in Procore construction management software
- Experience managing project budgets and vendor contracts
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
- Willingness to travel frequently to job sites (travel up to 80%)
- Experience working with medical or veterinary equipment
- Experience managing multi site facilities operations
- Experience in fast paced or high growth environments
