The Role:

We are currently seeking a creative, client-centric, passionate Commercial strategy consultant to drive Evaluate and Citeline's Commercial consulting service capabilities. In this pre-sales role, the consultant will lead the design and scoping of Norstella-wide capabilities to propel our clients forward during their most complex business challenges. Consultants drive new business development by working with our core Sales team members to build and maintain client trust through project work spanning various business needs across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle. Our core capabilities include asset prioritization, portfolio opportunity assessment, market landscape assessment, commercial potential assessment of an asset, and global market access.

Evaluate, and Citeline's Commercial Consulting and Analytics team provides insights and recommendations leveraging Norstella's curated and procured data, which is viewed as an industry gold standard, including real-world data supplemented with primary and additional secondary market research, which is then coupled with our deep subject-matter expertise across our expansive client base. Our clients span consulting and advisory firms, large pharmaceutical manufacturers, emerging biotech companies, and other suppliers to Pharma entities. Our current teams reflect industry-respected strategists with extensive experience in facing life science's most pressing challenges.

    Responsibilities:
  • Lead capabilities and scoping discussions across multiple clients to identify and craft creative solutions to answer their key business questions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client during project scoping, pre-sales, post-sale project hand-off to the consulting and analytics delivery team, and to ensure additional opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Field RFPs and coordinate efforts on proposal writing and submission to ensure high-quality responses.
  • Consistent collaboration with New Business Development Directors and Strategic Account Management teams is expected to identify opportunities for business alignment. Support pre-sales and marketing activities, including therapeutic-specific messaging, aligning market events with emerging client needs, and curating targeted insights to drive prospect engagement.
  • Manage, grow, and develop client relationships to achieve business development targets through proposals, upselling/cross-selling existing clients and accounts, and prospective clients.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of business, ensuring a smooth transition to the project manager and project team.
  • Represent capabilities at trade shows and other industry events. Opportunity to host webinar-type sessions on industry-relevant thought leadership content.
    Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a scientific/ life science or business-related field is required. An advanced degree (PhD, MS, MPH, or MBA) is preferred.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation projects or implementing customized AI-driven workflows and dashboards is preferred.
  • Proven track record of high performance in a client-facing role within the life sciences industry for a minimum of 5 years, with proven ability to bring in new consulting business and growth.
  • Working knowledge of advanced consulting methodologies/frameworks, tools, and familiarity with commonly analyzed healthcare datasets such as pharmacy and medical claims, laboratory results, payer data, drug/pipeline, and indication data.
  • Stellar communication & relationship management skills that foster trust and lasting client partnerships with the ability to demonstrate empathy and confidence in interactions with clients.
  • Collaborative team player who is driven to win as part of a team and capable of managing fast-paced activities while remaining optimistic.
  • Data-driven communicator with the ability to synthesize issues quickly and with confidence
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and thrives on winning through continuous improvement

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $190,000 plus commission. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
