They are seeking a Pro Bono Practice Immigration Attorney to establish their pro bono immigration practice, conduct consultations, and provide legal guidance on deportation and asylum matters.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct consultations with individuals seeking legal advice related to asylum and deportation matters
- Explain eligibility standards, evidentiary requirements, risks, and timelines in clear language
- Provide practical recommendations regarding next steps
- Manage expectations and communicate decisions with professionalism and clarity
- Provide legal guidance
- Conduct risk analysis based on current law and agency guidance
- Make informed decisions regarding case acceptance within the pro bono framework
- Help establish intake criteria and consultation standards
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure compliance and quality control
- Support the development of structured workflows for the pro bono practice
- Skills
- Active membership in good standing with the Arizona Bar (required)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience practicing immigration law, with extensive asylum and deportation experience
- Demonstrated experience handling or advising on these matters
- Strong consultation skills and ability to assess cases efficiently and accurately
- Working knowledge of evidentiary standards, country conditions analysis, and credibility considerations
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a remote environment with autonomy
