Role Description

    The Laboratory Technical Liaison (LTL) is responsible for providing technical support pre- and post-sale for moderate and high complex accounts to provide information and guidance customers need to navigate new technology decisions and assay implementations confidently.
  • Facilitate pro-active sales activities within the territory accounts such as providing expanded menu sales, instrument and capacity expansion leads, moderate and high complex training, connectivity support, and updates to software and maintenance procedure needs.
  • Achieve sales goals, support sales strategies, and keep customers up to date on assay and product changes.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for moderate and high complex products.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and global business units to identify and assess customer needs.
  • Provide high quality customer support that exceeds expectations.
  • Strive for excellent levels of customer satisfaction within each assigned product range.
  • Provide feedback to associates, managers, and the broader Cepheid organization for continuous improvement.
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 2+ years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) experience OR Minimum of 3 years’ formal training experience; OR any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in commercial operations.
  • FAS, MT, CLS, MLS, MLT training or teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in following corporate process and administrative requirements (ex: Salesforce.com, Monthly Reports, business intelligence reports, regulatory requirements).
    Requirements
  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to walk, sit, stand, use hand to handle or feel objects, utilize tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, bend, talk and hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position will require 75% travel by car and flying in and out of airports with possible long waiting times.
  • Work environment: Some work is in a lab environment setting. Lighting and temperature are adequate. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events.
