Demonstrates efficiency with safety lights, turns, and positioning of patients to ensure correct body alignment and maintain skin integrity. Assists patients with ADLs, including passing meals, nourishments, and fresh water at bedside. Participates in hourly rounding and answers call lights in a timely manner. Reports changes in vital signs and patient status to appropriate staff. Maintains a clean, organized environment and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment. Follows directions of registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and managers. Supports the unit secretary by answering phones and directing patients and visitors. Delivers and picks up items from other departments and interacts with all ancillary departments. Completes other duties as assigned and proactively anticipates the needs of other team members. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices. [Required] • Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within healthcare guidelines and applicable regulations. [Required] • Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality. [Required] • Ability to communicate verbally in English and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Preferred] • Basic dysrhythmia interpretation class. [Preferred] • Previous basic intravenous therapy class (LPN, EMT, Nurse Tech, or Paramedic only).
