Position Overview
The Commercial Solar Project Coordinator will play a key role in managing and supporting commercial solar projects from initial proposal through permitting, procurement, and installation. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical familiarity with solar design tools, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including Installation Partners (IPs). The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with a strong determination to achieve results and maintain consistent project momentum
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop commercial solar proposals using Aurora and ETB (Energy Toolbase) platforms
- Prepare, review, and manage customer agreements and contracts
- Build and maintain relationships with Installation Partners (IPs) and coordinate project execution
- Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment for commercial projects
- Manage permitting processes and maintain communication with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
- Conduct follow-ups with AHJs to ensure timely approvals
- Coordinate with Installation Partners (IPs) on scheduling, documentation, and project requirements
- Research utility requirements, limitations, and interconnection guidelines specific to commercial projects
- Identify and analyze available rebates, incentives, and solar programs for commercial clients
- Maintain accurate project documentation and status updates
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, engineering, and operations
- Qualifications
- Experience in commercial solar project coordination, operations, or similar role preferred
- Proficiency with Aurora Solar and ETB (Energy Toolbase) strongly preferred
- Experience working with Installation Partners (IPs) or subcontractors
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for reviewing and supporting project designs.
- Familiarity with commercial permitting processes and AHJ coordination
- Strong understanding of commercial solar project lifecycle and interconnection processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of utility interconnection standards for commercial systems
- Experience with procurement and vendor coordination
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal solar incentive programs for commercial projects
