Hybrid | Travel Required Sage Clinical RCM is seeking a hands-on HIM Director / Coding Director to support a healthcare partner located in the Rocky Mountain region of Wyoming. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong coding leader looking to step into or expand their leadership career within Health Information Management. This role blends operational leadership with active coding expertise, making it ideal for a leader who enjoys building structure, mentoring teams, and improving coding performance while staying connected to the work. The position is hybrid with a rotational onsite schedule, typically one week onsite followed by three weeks remote. During the initial transition period, the schedule may adjust to two weeks onsite / two weeks remote while operations stabilize. Responsibilities Lead and support HIM and coding operations for a regional healthcare facility Provide hands-on oversight of coding quality, productivity, and compliance Mentor and develop coding staff and HIM team members Partner with hospital leadership on operational improvements and coding performance Monitor documentation integrity and ensure adherence to regulatory and payer guidelines Support process improvement initiatives and reporting related to coding performance Assist with workflow optimization and operational stabilization during the engagement Qualifications RHIA, RHIT, or CCS required 7+ years of HIM or coding experience Prior leadership experience within HIM or coding operations strongly preferred Strong inpatient coding knowledge and auditing experience preferred Experience working with hospital leadership and clinical teams Ability to travel onsite as part of a rotational hybrid schedule Why This Role This is a unique opportunity for an experienced coding professional ready to expand into broader HIM leadership while supporting a hospital in one of the most beautiful regions of the country.
