Part-time staff member at the Aiken County Historical Museum for weekends and special events that will work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
This part-time staff member will work every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm, excepting designated Aiken County governmental holidays.
This position also has the opportunity to work additional hours for special events, such as evening rentals during the week and on the weekends.
Examples of Duties
This position welcomes visitors to the Museum and engages the Museum's weekend guests on overview of the Museum collections and exhibitions.
There are duties related to the general operation of the Museum and public-oriented functions, such as opening and closing the museum.
This staff member will interact with museum staff, rental clients, the general public, and work alongside volunteers.
Must be able to meet and greet visitors to the Museum and to supervise the visitors' conduct regarding stated rules of operation.
Must be able to lift tables and chairs to accommodate facility rentals and usage.
Other duties as assigned.
Unpaid leave is available for this position.
The position reports to the ACHM's Operations and Education Manager.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum of two years college; history-oriented or science-oriented individual.
