Job Description

WSP is one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms, currently seeking a Drafter for their Saint Louis, MO office. The role involves providing technical design and CADD support on projects, producing designs and specifications for various infrastructure projects.


Responsibilities

  • Takes part in providing local technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines
  • Tasks may include generating CADD designs on various assigned aspects of projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexity
  • Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists
  • Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality
  • Under direct supervision, use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to assist with basic design details and prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Skills

  • High school Diploma
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Candidate must have strong experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2018 or newer
  • Willing and able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Associate's degree
  • Experience with creating alignments, profiles, surfaces and pipe networks in AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2018 or newer
  • Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems
  • Experience interpreting surveys
  • Experience with MicroStation
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Background in mathematics
