Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Allstate Insurance Co. is a leader in protecting families and their belongings from life's uncertainties. As a Catastrophe Field Property Adjuster, you will inspect properties damaged by various perils, travel extensively for inspections, and settle claims on-site with customers.
Responsibilities
- Inspect properties damaged by various perils, including wind, hail, water, lightning, fire, and more
- Travel at least 70% of the time to perform inspections anywhere in the United States including overnight travel
- Conduct inspections, evaluate policies and endorsements for coverage, prepare estimates in the Xactimate program, and settle claims on site with customers
- Follow a 10-day on and 4-day off schedule, with 12-hour workdays throughout the year
- Handle claims remotely through the ClaimsX Video Collaboration platform when travel is not possible or weather conditions do not permit on-site inspections
- Investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage
- Communicate with customers via phone, emails, and video chat to help them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers and claimants, in accordance with all legal and business standard methodologies
- Utilize multiple tools to get the job done in a fast-paced environment, including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms, all while using sharp critical thinking skills
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation is completed as you work on each claim
Skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required
- Must be willing to travel 70% of the time to perform inspections anywhere in the United States including overnight travel
- Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a 1 or 2 story roof is required
- Per Allstate policy, employees must be 21 to rent a vehicle
- Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle claims countrywide is required
- This position is not available for California, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington or Puerto Rico residents
- As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. If applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire
- The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service is preferred
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work is preferred
- Previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired
- Proficiency in using Xactimate or other relevant software for estimating is preferred
