Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Surfline Wavetrak, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Associate Accountant. The role focuses primarily on full-cycle Accounts Payable and will evolve to include Accounts Receivable and revenue processes, ensuring accurate financial operations across multiple entities and currencies.
Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle accounts payable, for multi-national entities from data entry to bank reconciliations:Vendor Bill Review & Processing: Accurately review and process vendor bills using available tools and technology, ensuring proper coding and workflow approvalsWeekly payment run preparation and review: utilizing various reports to pay vendors within set payment termsMonth End Close: Assist with close activities including accruals, account reviews, and reconciliationsBank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations; identify and resolve any discrepancies in bank transactionsStatement Review & Vendor Follow-Ups: Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or issuesTravel & Expense System Management: Oversee the corporate credit card program, including monitoring expenses, follow-ups on outstanding items, and ensuring compliance with company policiesUtilization of Accounting Tools: such as Excel, NetSuite, Ramp, and various bank providersAssist with Tax Compliance:1099’sGrowth Areas 6+ months:Develop into full cycle accounts receivable: sales orders, invoices, cash applications, customer follow-upsInventory: track in-transit, installations, reconciliationsAdhoc projects as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1-3 years of accounting or relevant internship experience
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting field
- A “get it done” attitude
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Bill.com, Navan, Ramp, Stripe, Paypal)
- Experience or knowledge in handling multi-entity and multi-currency transactions
- Exposure to month end close practices
- Passion for ocean-going activities
