Job Description
American Family Insurance is a company that provides a full range of compliance advice and services. The Associate Business Compliance Specialist will manage compliance processes, conduct investigations, and support internal controls while collaborating with various business partners across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Researches and conducts investigations to coordinate written complaint responses for complainants, insurance departments and other regulatory agencies
- Proactively identifies underlying issues and/or trends that may present additional risk or impact to corporate mission, vision and values by acting as a liaison with business partners
- Responsible for investigating non-complex fraud allegations
- Evaluates internal control reports proposes changes or updates to policies and procedures accordingly
- Supports internal control unit/audit to actively recognizes potential opportunities or issues and make recommendations to remediate potential issues to mitigate risks
- Handles non-complex DOI reporting
- Oversees record retention schedules and business continuity plans for team
- Works business partners to develop and maintain processes and procedures to facilitate the timely and accurate execution of all types of new state expansion or product, service or sales enhancements or regulatory/legislative changes
- Develops knowledge to serve as resource for best practices and current system functionality as well as provide guidance and advice for enhancements or changes, especially where forms are affected
- Serves as a liaison and committee member to various groups charged with directing and designing system edits, workflows and various processes and procedures necessary to effectively run our business
Skills
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Basic knowledge and understanding of insurance principles
- Demonstrated experience communicating both verbally and in writing with people of diverse cultures, education, and backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience in effective professional business writing
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications and other advanced workflow tools
