As a Biomedical Cybersecurity Team Engineer, you will support cross-functional coordination and technical execution, ensuring project alignment with program goals while maintaining documentation accuracy and promoting communication across teams.


Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining a cyber tracker for clear communication on status of systems
  • Provide live, automated cyber updates (e.g., JIRA) to Leadership for ATCs, CRs, and connectivity dates through clear dashboards
  • Perform gap analysis for future sites to support planning mitigation activities (upgrades, licenses, and configurations requirements)
  • Assist in PPSM development
  • Assist auditing and reviewing inventories. Creation of POAMs statements as needed
  • Assist with Firewall ruleset development. Development of standard templates across deployment sites
  • Assist onsite support for inventory analysis as needed. Assist in the development of enterprise standard configuration guides to meet cyber best practices (e.g., Welch Allyn, SkyVue, CCE Admin Tool, etc.)
  • Work with client HTM members who are coordinating with existing client biomedical leadership and help review and validate the documentation regarding the designs for medical systems, to include devices, to facilitate client timelines and existing systems
  • Reviewing and validation of the client regarding the designs for medical systems, to include devices, to facilitate VA timelines and existing systems
  • Provide technical strategies and guidance for implementation of the Risk Management Framework to support client Authority to Operate/Authority to Connect activities

Skills

  • Able to understand current federal cybersecurity guidance as it relates to Healthcare Technology
  • Able to understand the use of VLANs and use of logical separation of devices based on risk characterization
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of current Healthcare standards (e.g. HL7 FHIR, CCDA) to facilitate information exchange, as well as interoperability coordination between client and its community care providers over a Health Information Exchange
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse technical and functional groups
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT or system modernization concepts
  • Experience with documentation, tracking, or reporting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Client, other federal, or healthcare IT programs
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, testing, data, or operations domains
  • Knowledge of EHR systems or large-scale system integrations
